4071 Views Reverse Pharmacology Approach Case of Antimalarial Discovery - Session 1

This Session aims at highlighting the ongoing revolution in biomedical research and development, and its transition from disease- and target- centric approaches to person- and phenotype- centric therapeutic solutions. This Winter School brings the unique opportunity to learn from master scientists from academia and industry. This Winter School will be useful for masters students of Life sciences,Health Sciences,AYUSH,Medical and Pharmaceutical sciences

Prof. Akhil Vaidya

Professor of Microbiology and Immunology

Professor of Microbiology and Immunology and the Director of the Center for Molecular Parasitology at Drexel University College of Medicine,Philadelphia,USA. His focus area of research is understanding basic molecular functioning of malaria parasites with a view to develop new antimalarial drugs. He has carried out seminal research on mitochondrial physiology and bioenergetics in malaria parasites as well as on mechanisms of antimalarial drug action and resistance. His research interests also include parasite genomics, and global health challenges. He has served and continues to serve on numerous review panels at NIH,NSF,CDC and Veterans Administration.
