Physician scientist,who has pioneered community rheumatology in India. He is the director of Center for Rheumatic Diseases,a Pune based clinical and research organization. He has generated huge data on burden of rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases as a part of World Health Organization’s ‘community oriented program for control of rheumatic diseases (COPCORD)’program. He was instrumental in clinical trials of Ayurveda based formulations for arthritis. He has studied various interventions for arthritis,autoimmune conditions,and musculoskleletal diseases. He had received many grants and awards. He is a member of American College of Rheumatology and has published over 200 papers.
